So my hair adventure continues...
I bought this super cheap wig in an African shop in Borgerhout. They were lowering their prices because the wigshop next to them were in their sales period. So I just enjoyed the 'war' between the two stores and made my move on their weakest moment.

People told me I kinda look like Merida from the movie 'Brave'. It just makes me laugh. I think people should buy wigs, as if they would buy rings and necklaces. It's just so fun to change your hair so easily.

And this morning I received this bottle of coke. My name is finally famous enough for consumption!!!
And yes... 'Jolien' is actually my real name. Nice to meet you!

Strikhedonia: the pleasure of being able to say 'to hell with it'

I'm still not getting used to my new hairstyle. I still grab the shower cab. When I go to sleep, I still want to braid it. It must be such a silly view when I'm in the bus untangling non existing hair.

I discovered that I used my hair as my greatest 'accessoire'. But it may sound silly, but I don't miss it.
I only miss the 'color changes'.

So maybe I will buy a few wigs in the future, just to dye it with fancy colors.

About my outfit...
I tried to create this weird feminine/masculine look.
It's not the style of clothes I used to wear.  But now, I have the feeling that I can't be too 'fairy-ish', otherwise it just looks weird (believe me, it looks weird).

Shaved head

I finally shaved my head!
It's been one of the most liberating things I ever did in my life,
I felt like I could truly do anything. I could just start over.

Femininity doesn't depend on pure physical appearance, it goes far beyond that.

Alphamegamia: The marriage between a young woman and an older man.

Today was such a lovely day. I just went to the city for some vegan noodles time, and I came across these bird statues in the train station (Antwerp Central). The entire station was filled with these bird like statues.
Suddenly I remembered why people that are not from this city are astonished by this station.

I mean...just look at this magnificent architecture.

Sometimes I'm so happy I live in this city.

Viraginity: Masculine qualities in a woman

Because childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies.
To be grown up is to sit at the table with people who have died,
who neither listen nor speak;
Who do not drink their tea, though they always said
Tea was such a comfort.

House Tyrell of Highgarden

House Tyrell of Highgarden is one of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms, overlords over the Reach. A large, wealthy house, its wealth is only surpassed among the Great Houses by House Lannister, and the Tyrells can field the greatest armies. Additionally, if they call the fleets of their bannermen the Redwynes, the lords of the Shield Islands, and the coastal lords, they can command a navy that equals if not surpasses the royal fleet. Highgarden is an ancient seat of rule and the heart of chivalry in the Seven Kingdoms; the Tyrells style themselves 'Defenders of the Marches' and 'High Marshals of the Reach', and traditionally, they have been Wardens of the South. Their sigil is a golden rose on a green field, and their words are "Growing Strong."  (http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/House_Tyrell)

So I finally decided to leave my bed...

So my new look was inspired by one of the Great houses in the amazing book series 'A song of ice and fire' mostly known as 'Game of thrones'.
I'm more of a 'Targaryen' girl, but I must admit... the Queen of Thorns is also growing strong in my heart.

Just for showing the love I putted on an semi transparent dress with rose/flower details with a nice flower headpiece I once bought on a festival in my village.

Vegan Bacon

I'm already 11 years long a vegetarian, and 1 year ago I started experimenting with veganisme.
Probably because of the word 'experimenting', a few vegans will be offended, but here in Belgium 'veganisme' isn't that 'known' and their are not so many stores in my little village that sell vegan stuff.

After a few months I already found some things, and of these amazing products is 'VEGAN BACON'.
Since my fifth year of the vegetarian life I was craving for salty snacks... and sometimes when I smelled bacon  I thought: 'I must find vegi/vegan bacon', and after a few years I finally found it.

It's very funny that I don't remember the taste or the texture of bacon, but one of the biggest carnivores I know tasted it and told me it's kinda the same. So yeah, I'm pretty happy!!!

Nelipot: someone who walks without shoes.

Sometimes I have these days that I just want to stay in bed. I really must convince myself to take a shower and eat something... and afterwards I just pull on some oversized sweater, short shorts and socks.

It's actually a waste because I end up in bed anyway.

One of my colleagues helped me getting this sweater. In the shop (I work at Urban Outfitters Antwerp) I'm known as a 'die-hard' unicorn lover. Every time there is something unicorn'ish in the shop... I can't resist myself. It's a strange addiction.

So a colleague saw the sweater online and helped me order it, and now I'm the proud owner of this oversized warm sweater!!!! The socks are from American Apparel... they have the most awesome socks (and clothes)!!!

And it's just like I said... I'm just editing these pictures in my bed with a nice cup of agave-tea. Later on I will just read a book. I'm almost finished with the 'A song of ice and fire' series. So I will probably start with Siddhartha written by Hermann Hesse (after a few hours).

And I end up in bed.

One month ago I chanced my 'shampoo' believe, I used to wash my hair with shampoo from the regular stores with regular brands. (and they worked for me back then) But everything chanced when the hair dye attacked!!!

I'm kinda addicted to hair dye. I colored my hair in the most crazy colors like pink, half brown half white, silver, purple, ginger,... Everything except black. In that period an amazing hairdresser wanted to dye my hair for a show, so I said: 'HELL YEAH'. But my hair was begging for mercy.

So Because of this little event my hair just died faster and faster. I kept a hair color for 'maybe' 2 weeks, I bleached it, and moved on to another color. But then came the moment I couldn't do anything anymore. and my hair changed into this very damaged 'EXTREME DAMAGED' hair.

I wanted to shave it off  (yes, really shave it off) but then there was this 'lush' angel, and she helped me out. She told me about this amazing product 'Blousey'. It was a shampoo full with bananas and a delicious scent. So I tried it, and after just 5 days intense hair-care this magical thing happened.

My hair became more manageable and started to shine again.

So what's in this magical potion?
Like I already said... the main ingredient are bananas. But there is also this wonderful herb 'clove' in it. The clove will take care of your scalp and will give your hair some extra shine. The blackberries and rosemary give this very nice scent.

And did I already mentioned it's VEGAN?

There is only one downside on this shampoo. There are some, I call it 'banana seeds' in it, and they have the tendency to stay clinched in your hair when you have very tangled hair (which is in my case extreme tangled) but when I use a conditioner afterwards it doesn't matter.

This product really impressed me (and my hair) and is also the reason why I' became a real lush lover.

Blandiloquent: speaking in a flattering of ingragrating manner

So today is the fist day that I started blogging again... a few months ago I sell my soul to tumblr.com and deleted my dear beloved blogspot. But since I started being active on lookbook.nu (again) I decided to give it a shot.
Just to be honest with you guys... I seriously don't know what to wright down. But I'll try to do my best.

A few months ago I saw this dress with the heaviest pearl collar that exists, and I just fell in love with it. I have this extreme fascination and love for fairy-like dresses with a little dash of magic and a hint of childhood.
I wanted my hair to be a little more 'tamed' so a just used a large pearl necklace I once bought in a thrift shop.
And tadaaaaaa my new look was born.
Just click here to check it out.

I love pastel hair colors, unicorns, mermaids, lamantines, fennec foxes, books, vegan food…and things that are older than me. I make associations that most people don’t understand, and I want a life that is beyond understanding.

Kohiemke (Pronounced ‘Koh-Hiemke’)
When I was little, I couldn’t pronounce my real name. So I created a new one. I created myself. For me, this name stands for ‘creation’. My world, my path. It’s a trigger to create, to live,…
Like I already said… I want a life that is beyond understanding.
I live in Belgium. A country where it’s cold in the winter and warm in the summer. Everything is balanced. Everything is nice. We do not have wars, we only see them on television. We can drink hot chocolate milk, read books and talk about politics.
